Warm Greetings from the Department of Computer Engineering!.
It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you to the Department of Computer Engineering at Thakur College of Engineering and Technology (TCET). Established in the Academic Year 2002–03, the department has grown consistently with a vision “to become the department of national relevance in the field of Computer Engineering".. Over the years, the department has developed a strong academic ecosystem focused on quality education, innovation, research, industry collaboration and professional excellence. The Undergraduate Programme of the department is accredited by NBA for the 5th cycle, reflecting our continuous commitment towards quality education, outcome-based learning and academic excellence.
In today’s rapidly evolving digital era, Computer Engineering plays a vital role in transforming industries through Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cyber Security, Cloud Computing, Internet of Things, Software Development and other emerging technologies. The department continuously strives to develop globally competent engineers by strengthening fundamentals, enhancing problem-solving abilities and providing exposure to modern tools and technologies. The department offers B.E. (Computer Engineering) with an intake of 240 students, along with M.E. and Ph.D. programmes. The department is supported by state-of-the-art infrastructure and a team of 39 highly qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty members including 10 Ph.D. holders, 11 faculty members pursuing Ph.D., recognized research guides and industry experts. With TCET’s Empowered Autonomous Status and NEP 2020 aligned curriculum, we provide a flexible, outcome-based and industry-oriented learning environment through professional electives, major/minor specializations, industry-designed courses, certifications, internships and multidisciplinary learning opportunities.
The department strongly believes in Learning Beyond Classrooms by nurturing innovation, creativity and problem-solving skills through Activity-Based Learning (ABL), Project-Based Learning (PBL) and Research-Based Learning (RBL). Students actively participate in real-world projects, Smart India Hackathon, Aavishkar, research publications, intellectual property development, technical communities and entrepreneurship initiatives. Industry interactions, professional activities and in-house & industry internships including PLI, AEDP and OJT provide practical exposure and prepare students to meet evolving industry expectations.
Our students and alumni continue to bring pride through achievements in placements, higher studies, competitive examinations, research, innovation, sports and entrepreneurship. The department remains committed to developing technically competent professionals with leadership qualities, ethical values, social responsibility and a lifelong learning attitude.
